Terror-Kat

This is Terror-Kat, a character that I originally made for a comic. In that comic she served as a vigilante anti-hero and I wanted to try my hand at 3d modeling using her as a test subject. I come from an illustration and concept art background, so the 3d modeling pipeline is fairly new to me so I decided to use the rising star competition as a driving force to try new things and start dipping my toes into 3d modeling. Even though I did not manage to make a finalized model inside of Unreal Engine I still wanted to share my progress and how far I got.

In conclusion, taking part in the rising star competition was a great kick to start modeling a full 3D character. It was a good experience and I learned a lot form it. I will definitely continue to work in 3D with my concepts and maybe I will compete again next year when I have better understanding on what’s required and knowledge of more 3D software’s.  Even though I am mainly a concept artist I think it’s super important for concept artists to be able to use 3D in their work and show their designs in a 3D spaces.
